Michael Jackson(Aug 29,1958-June 25,2009)

LOS ANGELES – Michael Jackson, the "King of Pop" who once moonwalked above the music world, died Thursday as he prepared for a comeback bid to vanquish nightmare years of sexual scandal and financial calamity. He was 50.

Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center after being stricken at his rented home in Holmby Hills. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his home for nearly three-quarters of an hour, then rushed him to the hospital, where doctors continued to work on him.

"It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest in his home. However, the cause of his death is unknown until results of the autopsy are known," his brother Jermaine said. Police said they were investigating, standard procedure in high-profile cases.

Perez Hilton Assaulted by will.i.am

Renowned celebrity blogger Perez Hilton (real name Mario Armando Lavandeira) was apparently assaulted by artist will.i.am, frontman of The Black Eyed Peas and his security guards, according to messages posted to his Twitter account. We’re pretty sure this really happened, although you never know.

It’s remarkable that he chose to tweet out a message for help rather than contact the police directly (he has over 1 million followers on Twitter). From the looks of it, he needed to effectively ask people to stop calling the police because the department got flooded with incoming calls from his fans.

Twitter Spam Spreads Worm

Twitter spam bearing a worm virus is on the loose today trying to lure Twitter users into opening a malicious file attachment containing malware that could take over Windows-based machines, Symantec is warning.

It works through a Twitter message that arrives claiming your friends are inviting you to join them and to check the attachment -- which is a ZIP file -- to find out who, says Kevin Haley, director of Symantec's security response division. "It's a new social-engineering trick," he says, adding the payload is Ackantta.B, a variant on the Ackantta worm discovered in February that has been used in e-mail spam attacks.
Twitter has also been the target of several other worms this spring, including the Mikeyy or StalkDaily worm.

The Twitter spam ruse with Ackantta.B is a clumsy trick but if the victim did open the attachment, malware would install itself on the victim's machine which would try to find e-mail contacts to mail itself off further.

The malware would also send the victim's IP address to a list of owned machines and the machine would be prepared for future downloads of additional malware.
So far, the Twitter worm is not spreading very rapidly, according to Symantec, adding that updated antivirus software should contain it.

Nokia unveils 3 new mobiles

The Nokia 3710 fold phone looks like a run of the mill entry level clamshell. It comes with a 3.2 MP camera, an SD card slot, and an internal GPS receiver that works with the Nokia Maps software. This no-nonsense, simple to use, value for money phone should be hitting the market by Q4 of 2009.

As the successor of the highly popular E71, the new and improved E72 comes with a series of enhancing refinements rather than a total makeover. Among them is the use of an optical navigation key in place of the previously used "joystick", the inclusion of a 3.5mm audio jack, and camera upgrade to 5 MP. The E72 should start shipping by Q3 of 2009.

Following the footsteps of the 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia's first S60 touchscreen device, the 5530 XpressMusic comes with all the multimedia prowess and touchscreen goodness that you're already familiar with. This device however is more like a little brother to the 5800XM than a replacement. Boasting up to 27 hours of music playback, and a 2.9-inch touchscreen, the 5530XM doesn't come with any on-board memory is only capable of GSM/EDGE and WiFi connectivity. The 5530XM is expected to ship by Q3 of 2009 at an estimated retail price of €199.

Prototype: Nokia phone wireless recharge

Pardon the cliche, but it's one of the holiest of Holy Grails of technology: Wireless power. And while early lab experiments have been able to "beam" electricity a few feet to power a light bulb, the day when our laptops and cell phones can charge without having to plug them in to a wall socket still seems decades in the future.

Nokia, however, has taken another baby step in that direction with the invention of a cell phone that recharges itself using a unique system: It harvests ambient radio waves from the air, and turns that energy into usable power. Enough, at least, to keep a cell phone from running out of juice.

Serpent Spy: Israel's New Robotic Snake

The robotic snake can even stand up vertically to peer over obstacles

The Israeli military has reportedly designed a robotic snake which can spy on enemies and plant bombs. The remote-controlled reptile is able to sneak through cracks in buildings to gather information on enemy combatants, according to Israel's Channel 2 TV.

It can even stretch its neck up vertically to peek over obstacles in its way. Researchers studied the movements of snakes to ensure that the robotic equivalent mimics them correctly.

A soldier controls the snake from a remote laptop and can follow what it sees via video cameras.
